Well all you can do now is move forward. If Maverick doesn't rehire you then Apply For Truck Driving Jobs right here at TruckingTruth and get back out there. I don't know what companies are going to do as far as training you. Even though you completed training you really have no OTR experience to speak of so you'll likely have to go out with a trainer again at your next company. No biggie I guess.
Listen, every one of us has made rash decisions at times. Life is too short to worry about it. Move forward. If you had to do it again you would probably do it differently. So tuck that lesson away in the back of your mind for future reference, forget about the rest, and land another job quickly if that's what you're looking to do. Fill out apps and be diligent about calling the companies you apply to. We're running smack into the face of the busiest time of the year and trucking companies are hiring hard and steady right now. Take advantage of that and get out there.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
I think i made a horrible decision got thru the training with Maverick went over the road for a week an decided to come home, being home sick got the best of me, i had a great trainer we got along great he say i was catching on fast he told me i was the best student driver he'd seen since he'd been training im at home now an starting to realize what huge mistake i made my trainer tried to tell me this would happen an i dont think maverick do rehires.
Call Maverick and find out if they will re-hire or give you another chance....if not do like Brett said and apply to other places
