Hi everyone! Jolie I'm going thru Roehls school at their Marshfield location. I just got my CDL A permit today. I'm getting the nervous butterflies, but I guess that's to be expected! :)

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Jennifer I may be going to the Roehl school too. I was just told today I cannot qualify for WIA funds because I have sales skills and they are the 5 most in demand position on Monster.com. What they fail to take in to consideration is that MOST of those jobs are 100% commission (which I am already doing and a miserable way to try to make a living), and that I am over 50 so the ones that have a base will usually go to someone younger. I am between a rock and a hard place on trying to get a better sales job. Anyway, I am not a quitter and if it means going to a company school then I will. I have talked to 3 different people in 3 different departments and they genuinely seem to be a good company. When are you starting school or are you already there?
