Oh, and I forgot to mention. Also, when you want to start a new topic or start a new reply to a topic I'm having the page scroll so that the box you type into is in a good position on the page. Before it wasn't doing that and you could click on "Start a new reply" and the box would open but it might be below the visible portion of the page and you'd have to scroll down to it.
So please let me know if this is working ok for ya and if I've done it properly. Thanks!
Start new reply is working, but when I click jump to last reply it shows it for a second then jumps to the very top on the primary page ,I'm on my tablet it may be that doin it but out of my advice I'd check it on a PC also
Yeah, I may have to do it a slightly different way. It's been working fine on the devices I'm using but it may not work right all the time. It sounds like it's actually scrolling before the page is finished loading so it jumps back up to the top of the page.
I'd like to hear from more people about whether or not "jump to new replies" seems to be working ok.
I LIKE the scrolling feature AND the Jump feature, but I'm wondering if you are going to leave the text size the same on the new forum. I liked the text size on the old site that let you see 20 or so topics per page at a glance without having to scroll down..seems like your going to start building page numbers pretty quick with the text size you are using now and that threads are going to get lost pretty quick in the jumble..maybe you have already thought of this and have a plan already in place, but I just thought I would mention it..

The text size on the old forum I thought was too small, but this is a topic that a lot of people have different opinions about.
What I'm thinking of doing is creating a few different templates and letting people choose how they'd like the main page displayed. Others have mentioned the same thing you did - put as many topics as possible on the screen at once. But most modern websites leave a lot of open space on the pages so everything isn't all squashed together in a jumble of text that looks like a newspaper.
There is no wrong or right answer - it's really just a matter of what each person prefers. That's why I think pretty soon I'll create two or three different options for the type of layout you can use and everyone can use the one they prefer.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
Love the new changes, the reply box better better located is a huge plus.
I think the text size is fine. A lot of us and by that more than a lot post by phone. If the test is smaller to allow more post to show it will become unreadable cause you will not be able to see the text due to size.

Oh I totally agree. I'm going to build a mobile-only version of this forum for exactly that reason - a lot of people access the forum on their phones. The mobile-only version will be super user-friendly...big text, easy to click on the various links, and easy to share photos and such.
I don't think it's the text size that's a concern, it's the format I have everything in. I can definitely squeeze more topics onto the main page like the old forum, but that's a pretty old-school look and it's not nearly as comfortable to read. That's why I'm going to make a couple of different templates for people to choose from so they can see the topics listed in the format they like best.

personally I don't really care for the scrolling. I have to scroll back up to see what someone else had said...

New! Check out our help videos for a better understanding of our forum features
Ok, here by popular demand (and understandably so) is a new feature. Now, when there is a new reply to a topic and you click on "jump to new replies" it will not only take you to the appropriate page but it will now scroll you down the page so that the first new reply should be clearly in view.
I had to compromise on the exact position it scrolls to because right now I'm working with everything from 30" cinema displays all the way down to 4" iPhone screens. So I tried to position it so that the first new reply is in a decent position.
First, let me know if this feature is working properly. And second, let me know if you like the way it's implemented or if you'd like me to change something about it.
Thanks!
