So I decided I would check my DAC Report to make sure its all correct and I encourage every driver to do the same aswell because you get 1 free one a year. So anyways I expected to be pretty clean but two of my previous employers gave me a company policy violation and an accident. Wow! I was shocked, I didn't have any with these two. Oh, boy... am I gonna ring some necks when Monday rolls around.
Get em driver!!
A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).
It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.
Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.
Where can you check it?
Here is the number to DAC , also known as Hire Right.
1-800-331-9175.
You can dispute the information on your report in writing. From what I understand they have 30 days to confirm the charge with the company or it will be removed....At least that's how it use to work.
Good luck, K.
