The commitment at Celadon only lasts about 6 months and there will be no payroll deduction. You need to drive team and complete a certain amount of miles. If you drive team and drive 17000 or more in a month you get a 6 cpm bonus that month. This you won't get if you are solo. The length of the team driving depends on how many miles you drive per month. Personally, I am not scared about team driving anymore. I was in the beginning. My career will last long hopefully.
The Stevens program is good as well.
I sent applications to KLLM/FFE Academy, Stevens Driving Academy, Celadon Quality Drivers School, and Raider Express, but Celadon were the quickest to reply and they were the least bureaucratic.
I heard, but you need to verify with a recruiter. If you attend their Quality School, you will be required to drive a certain miles team with Celadon. This is the commitment. If you graduate from a private truck driving school, then you don't need to drive team, because there is no commitment required.
Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.
I am going to start the school in Laredo, TX and I will post little reports on how I am doing and how the school in Laredo is. I have heard some reports regarding the school in Indianapolis, but this will be about the Laredo school. I start 8th of September.
