I talked to several of their drivers while on the road cause at one time I was job hunting. Granted I talked to lease ops cause that was what I was interested in at the time. Their trucks are in pretty good shape. They seem to have more than enough freight.
This next part is my personal opinion. After being in trucking while you start to read what not being said when talking to drivers by the way they say certain stuff or how they make a statement.
The feeling I got was they went to the lease operator side because they weren't doing very well as company drivers. Nothing concrete. Just an undertone I picked up when asking about dispatch and how they operated.
Now don't let what I said put you off of them. That was my experience with the few drivers I spoke with. It very well could be totally different now since that was a few years ago. You might have, and probably will, have a different experience with them.
Thank you sir. I have read less than favorable things on Glassdoor.

I receive a pre-hire letter from TransAm. I would like to know more about them; can anyone help.
Pre-hire:
What Exactly Is A Pre-Hire Letter?
Pre-hire letters are acceptance letters from trucking companies to students, or even potential students, to verify placement. The trucking companies are saying in writing that the student, or potential student, appears to meet the company's minimum hiring requirements and is welcome to attend their orientation at the company’s expense once he or she graduates from truck driving school and has their CDL in hand.
We have an excellent article that will help you Understand The Pre-Hire Process.
A Pre-Hire Letter Is Not A Guarantee Of Employment
The people that receive a pre-hire letter are people who meet the company's minimum hiring requirements, but it is not an employment contract. It is an invitation to orientation, and the orientation itself is a prerequisite to employment.
During the orientation you will get a physical, drug screen, and background check done. These and other qualifications must be met before someone in orientation is officially hired.
