Hi Effie,
You absolutely MUST watch Allie Knight's vlogs on YouTube! You'll love her trucking videos and I do believe she has one where she answers questions for female truckers. At the end of her videos she gives her contact info so you can ask her whatever you like. Best of luck. :)
Effie, I see more and more lady drivers on the road these days. The career is wide open and there is a definite need for new drivers. I've seen some big gals and some very petite ladies out here. Size does not matter. There are always going to be a few neanderthal types of men out here who may resent you being here in what they consider their territory, but for the most part you will find acceptance and friendly helpfulness from the male drivers you come across.
Welcome to the forum, and I want you to feel free to ask as many questions as come to your curious mind. We will try our best to be helpful. You are more than welcome in here and while this is the most active part of the forum, you may also be interested in our Ladies Of Trucking Forum.

Hi there!
I am going through a lot of life changes and want to change my life a bit.
I wrote down everything I loved in life and long distance driving keeps cropping up. I would really love to think about becoming a truck driver.
Here is my question however-- are there any female truck drivers who could weigh in about their experiences?
Honestly, I'm a small girl -- 5'6 and probably 110lbs, and very street-smart...but I'm wondering how the trucker life is to a relatively young (25) female? I don't know what exactly I'm looking for here, other than -- have any ladies ever had safety concerns?
Sorry if this sounds naive, but I'm just curious!
Thanks, I appreciate any feedback~
