Thanks, MG and 6 .... that helps :)
I would say stick with dry van or refrigerated. Flatbed is a little more stressful for obvious reasons and tanker is more stressful because of the sloshing liquid, relatively high center of gravity, and maxed out weight all the time.
I also agree that a regional run might be a bit less stressful, assuming it's not the Northeast Region. That's just a bundle of stress. But a Southeast or Midwest regional dry van job would be a pretty straight forward job.
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.

Exactly what I was looking for .

Kind of hard to say AJ. LTL and city would be more stressful for me. I liked being regional and love what I am doing now, (OTL). Not sure there is a lower position on the ladder though. Just depends on what you want to do and if you truly enjoy it, there will be less stress. I think you can consider moving into another division a promotion if you started somewhere you didn`t want to be and worked hard to move to where you did want to be.
Thanks RT ...
btw, what is OTL?
On The Lamb ?
Running from the law sounds stressful to me !!!

Refers to carriers that make a lot of smaller pickups and deliveries for multiple customers as opposed to hauling one big load of freight for one customer. This type of hauling is normally done by companies with terminals scattered throughout the country where freight is sorted before being moved on to its destination.
LTL carriers include:

OTL = On Tour Logistics. Basically hauling production gear around for concerts, sports, etc.

On The Lamb, now that is funny.
I would say it is the exact opposite of running from the law. I am still new to this game, but, the driving is precise and safe. No rushing.
Just to elaborate a bit, OTL is a division within a company and not necessarily a proper "job title" in trucking.

Mountain Girl, if I knew exactly what put me here, I would start a school and cash in. I really have no idea what "it" takes. I am sitting in a hotel getting ready to fly to Miami to team drive with a tour that will drop me off near Chicago, then I will be put on a plane back to Nashville. I love adventure and always say "hell yeah, I`ll do it". That is all I know.
