I just got off the phone with the recruiter and picked my start date for training, but i also asked her about the swift pay raise. The way it is now drivers coming out of their school when done with training and mentorship start at 33 CMP and then get around 5 raises in the first year ending up around 38-40 CMP at the end of the first year with Swift.

I got that info not only from the recruiter but also several current Swift employees. Apparently there was a company wide boost for every driver of at least 4cmp some divisions were higher, i know flatbed got a much higher raise but not 100% sure on what it was.

Its not the best out there but for a company to take a guy like me that has been unemployed for several years taking care of ill family I cannot say its horrid, some companies that train are still starting guys out at 26-28cpm

CPM:

Cents Per Mile

Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

I started with swift back in 2012, at the time, my CPM was .28 and by 11months I made it to .32.... Its good to see swift finally raise the CPM for the fresh drivers..

Amen to that pay raise! Let me tell ya.....38-40 cents per mile by the end of the first year is really solid. At 40 cents per mile you can expect to make $40k-$45k your second full year on the road. You're probably looking at $35k or so the first year. Not only will you make less per mile that first year but you won't be able to run as hard as you will once you get some experience.

Thanks for the news. The director at my school said 35cpm starting, but I have to confirm that with him.

I believe you hit the .35 cpm at the 3 month mark. I know they give you a bunch of raises really fast at swift the first year.
