Well yea!! Of course I'm here for ya! Theres a whole line of us behind you! We all want to see you do well in this industry, and I know you can.
MG, I haven't had much of a chance to reply to any of your posts as I've just restarted my career and the last weeks been wild...,
Anyways, I wish you luck in this.. Hope it goes the best way for you. All of us here are with ya, we're a family that never really meets..lol
I for one can understand your emotions and feelings.. When I saw what my last company was doing to me because I left them to go back OTR , I see company's in a whole new way.
Keep your chin up and keep rolling! Good luck to ya.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Mountain Girl, only you know what is best for yourself. If this is the way you want to go then have at it. I can see the soldier coming out of you.
...and I appreciate allllllll your support. More than you will ever know. You've kept me strong.
So here's the big ...HOWEVER ...
Upon reflection and upon consulting with my "board of directors" - my kids - I was voted down by them, in my attempt to "stick with it" ... Based on the premise that I will always be looking over my shoulder for the few who (may) "have it in for me," the job and the company aren't worth it. They reasoned that even if I got to stay on and retest, those who have a little too much power and who have already set me up to fail once, will be hunting for new ways to continue to make my life difficult - even more so, if they perCEIVE that I got some sort of preferential treatment. According to my kids, the writing is already on the wall ...cut my losses now.
Knowing that adolescents often have more common sense than we do and a view of the world not clouded over time like we do, I must acquiesce.
I got past today's "bargaining phase" and landed on acceptance. It's settled. Cnwy said I "failed" their course, I said I'd never point a friend in their direction; I'm sticking to THAT instead, and they "win." Lol. yay for them.
Woo-HOO for me. I'm free.

Operating While Intoxicated
Well, there it is. I know your kids are an important part of your decision making, mine are as well, which is why I waited to start this adventure till the last one went to collage.

Thank you. The difficulty will be in finding the right uniform as I'm ...well ...blue.

There are plenty of companies out there and some have blue trucks.

I'm "out of service" pending investigation but not fired. Not yet, anyway. I've spoken to the HR rep and she's going to call me back this afternoon. I spoke of my passion that everyone here is familiar with. She sounded somewhat excited and hopeful, herself. My message was that I still wanted to work for them rather than go elsewhere (at least in part because I want a fair chance). I hope you don't think me nuts for trying but I have a really tough time quitting ... like ...anything. I know. Crazy, hunh? They'll have to make me leave - but I'll never quit.
Bottom line is: I have a glimmer of hope and I'm hangin', for now.
You Guys all said this was a tough business. Really tough. ... ... You all have my back, so I can be tough too.
