How Long Did You Have To Wait For A Mentor?

How long after graduating from training did you have to wait for a mentor? I was just wondering because I don't mind if I have a woman mentor or not but I don't want a smoker. I would prefer a woman but I don't want to wait forever.

It took me 3 1/2 wks. Most companies only allow same sex mentoring. They usually try to pair non smokers with non smokers. Im a trainer and my last 3 traineea have been smokers.

Thanks. I just read that Prime was sued because women had to wait longer than men for a mentor. That got my worry radar up. I'd be way more comfortable with a woman mentor even if that meant waiting a little longer.

Prime gives you the option of a man or a woman. 2 yrs ago their waiting list was 8 to 10 months and they only allowed you to be trained by women.. Problem is there is a shortage of women trainers. For the past year I have been the only female trainer at my company but now there is 2. However I never experienced woman having to wait more than 2 weeks here.

I waited 3 1/2 weeks with Celadon and I'd still be waiting if they hadn't changed their policy. But you as a female will have to choose a male trainer. They won't place you with one.
