Many companies that have their own schools will pay for your transportation to/from the school. Check out this page of Company-Sponsored CDL Training Schools and see if one of those might be a good fit for you. I'm sure there's a company or two with a facility in Phoenix; that's a pretty big area.

But don't limit yourself to just whatever company has a school in Phoenix. Find out if they provide transportation and, if they do, that opens up a lot more options for you.
I thank you for the help. I put in an application with C. R. England yesterday and I have to call them for a phone interview today.
I think Swift has a facility in or around Phoenix.
Definitely apply to more than just one company. Most of the big companies provide free transportation with a hotel. At Central, my bus ticket was paid for as well as hotel for a week and even an airplane ticket was paid for at the end of training. It doesn't matter all that much where you live, you don't have to restrict yourself to schools only in your area. Personally, I would think about all my options first and choose which company fits what you need. I live in CA working for a company based in UT. Makes 0% difference.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
Yap, in trucking it makes no difference where you're located relative to the company you work for. What matters is whether or not the company you're interested in hires from the area you live in.
Every company has its own "freight lanes" where they tend to run freight regularly. If you live close enough to one of their freight lanes then they know they can get you home regularly and they'll hire from your area.
Definitely take a look at all of the companies on our Company-Sponsored Training page. Each one lists their hiring areas. If they hire from your area then they're up for consideration. I would definitely apply to all of them that hire from your area and choose the one that suits you best from the ones that approve your application.

A Company-Sponsored Training Program is a school that is owned and operated by a trucking company.
The schooling often requires little or no money up front. Instead of paying up-front tuition you will sign an agreement to work for the company for a specified amount of time after graduation, usually around a year, at a slightly lower rate of pay in order to pay for the training.
If you choose to quit working for the company before your year is up, they will normally require you to pay back a prorated amount of money for the schooling. The amount you pay back will be comparable to what you would have paid if you went to an independently owned school.
Company-sponsored training can be an excellent way to get your career underway if you can't afford the tuition up front for private schooling.

I called Knight Transport yesterday to inquire about their training program and they're currently only recruiting out of Arizona, Utah, and one other state (I can't remember which). If I remember correctly, their training facility is located in Phoenix. If you're adamant about staying close to home, they might be another one to look into. I'd love to get in with them because their training program sounds so awesome, but alas, I live outside their current hiring area.
