I had a blast today! Wahoo because of this site, I knew what was being spoke about and was able to answer question. And I took my pre-trip test at the DMV this afternoon and passed. There is only three in our class and two of us are women πŸ˜ƒ. I think I may be the oldest but I won't tell ...yet anyway I'm proud of my age so if they ask I will tell. Can't wait to see what tomorrow holds for me. Y'all have a wonderful evening.

Hello ......I hope everyone is have a beautiful day. I had a great day myself. We got to check out the shop, brakes, drums, motors and tractors that were there. Smelt like a grease room to me 😊. Anyway I took my air brake test and passed. So I asked to take the tanker, doubles and triples and general knowledge. Passed them all.😜 can't wait to get though all the book work ! And move on to the yard. Y'all have a good evening and I'll post tomorrow ✌️

Doubles:

Refers to pulling two trailers at the same time, otherwise known as "pups" or "pup trailers" because they're only about 28 feet long. However there are some states that allow doubles that are each 48 feet in length.

That's awesome to hear how well you are doing! Being prepared before school started served you well and it shows in your confidence not to mention testing scores plus you know they are noticing. I'm on the second day of class myself and the thought of the pre-trip intimidates me, yet am inspired now that you have taken and passed it what sounds like the first week. Keep up the success, and thanks for letting us know how its going.

You can do this. What I have done , is tell myself to read the question two to three times. Then read the answers two to three times. Then get it down to just two then read it again and pick the one that makes the most sence. After practicing with CDL training here. It really has given me a good foundation to stay with. But talking my time and reading it three to sometimes four times really helps. And if you don't pass it's ok you have three try's in my state. Anyway good luck and believe in yourself and take your time 😏 y'all have a great day!

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Well had a great day. We did class work till about 1:00. Then we went to the yard to check out the trucks. It's was neat. Wow those things are so big! Did a pre- trip on one then was albe to get up inside of one. It was set up with seats in back for three students . So they explain where everything would be if it was normal. Anyway felt like I was in an airplane when I was in back. Lol it had a window. Then they let us meet the other instructor. Which is a women 😏 she said we would be with her all next week and Saturday we will be on the yard all day to do per- trip, coupling and uncoupling. Can't wait to be outside lol the classroom is freezing. Oh then before we left the yard......they had two trailers with semalaters in each. So we went into one. And it had two semalaters in it. So we was albe to do a drive forward and back up on it each. Then we went back to class seen a film on backing up. And then study time before the one who had to take test at the DMV. All in all great day! 😎

Today was a beautiful cloudy with some showers here and there in south Texas. We did class work all day. I must say I'm still learning new things every day in class. It will be raining for the next four or five days 😳 which means I will start my 1 st day in the rain on the yard Saturday learning the pre trip on the truck and the coupling and uncoupling then we will learn docking. I think I said it in the right order. So tomorrow should be the last day in class room all day. Starting Saturday will be on the yard for a week. That's all I know for now.😊 I hope everyone has a nice afternoon. And your never to old to learn new things or start a new career.πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒenjoy life while you can.✌️

Well the sun in my eyes this morning was killer for the 8 step check for me. I even had sunglasses on. But that sun was reflecting off the hood as it came up and shined right at my eyes . I had to use my clip board to block it. Well when it can time for the next student , he just raised his set and boom he was fine......lol I know what to do next time. Hahah. It was a great day. I drank water all day and sweated my butt off....lol it was hot! Tomorrow is going to be hotter like 105 ! Lets just say I have ratcoon look right now from wearing my sunglasses .......πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I would say I'm working on a tan. The insturter is from the night classes so he really baked . He sweated just all the rest of us. I ware a white t- shirt ......so I could stay alittle cooler. And will tomorrow as well. I'm done trying to wear pullover style polo shirts till we start driving on the road. At 47 I'm wearing my hair in a ponytail and a white T- shirt tucked in with a belt and jeans and my work boots. Normal dress for me when I mow my three acer yard and weed eat. But you know it's better to be cooler than fry like a fish πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜œπŸ˜œ
