I am I am trying to get back on the road after being off for about 10 years. I still have my Class A CDL and recently took a driver refresher course. I am trying to go back as an owner/operator, I have 15 years of experience as an o/o. I am considering Super Service Transportation, does anyone know anything about them? Or does anyone know what company is good to hire on as o/o without having to go out with a trainer for weeks and then being a company driver for weeks or months after begfore going into my own truck?
If you are trying to become an O/O then you will have your own truck and you will not have to worry about training as its your truck. But it sounds like you will be a lease op and leasing a truck from them or some other suitable company and in that case its a totally different story. Unless you go out and buy your truck then most leasing companies will not lease to anyone without resent driving experience and that means a trainer. No getting around that.
Just make sure you find out the difference between what a owner op and lease op is cause they have two very different business plans and neither will fit the other.
