If someone had been a driver for 15 years then stopped for 5 due to a DUI do you think they would lose the ability to pre trip, log, back and shift a truck???
Not gonna lie i am not good at the curved back yet, but i have never driven a stick and i was shifting better then this guy. He was down shifting from third to 4th or trying his damnest to put it in low (using an eaton 8)
Muscle memory. It is possible to remember how to do everything. Down shifting I think is the hardest as you gotta review the Rpms up.. every truck is different tho. It's like a finger print, not one is the same. Some trucks will shifts in at 1400 some do 1600.. others might be lower.. takes a bit to learn over.

Yea, hopefully he will lose his job because you dont approve of his pre trip skill.
Ease up dude, maybe you should worry about you and your progress and hope you dont run into something you cant figure out.
If you have the pre trip down, maybe offer to help the guy ?

the thing is we have, he just walks away to play on his cell phone. he does not want to learn.
Then he will take himself out of the training. My point is, what does it have to do with you ?

he takes seat time away from me and 2 others who want to learn.
@eckoh, if he doesn't want to learn, then just worry bout you. Even if he takes up a seat. When it comes test time, if he can't perform well enough then he'll get the boot...
@Doug, there are some people out there That just should not be in a truck period. As rude as it might seam, it's the truth. If he'd rather play on his cell then learn or relearn then he's not worthy of driving truck. That shows me that his phone is more important then focusing on the road.
Just my 2 cents
There are people like that in life period. Best to worry about what you can control.... you

I agree. I don't really see the purpose in the thread - outside of venting, which does have its place.
