If someone had been a driver for 15 years then stopped for 5 due to a DUI do you think they would lose the ability to pre trip, log, back and shift a truck???

Not gonna lie i am not good at the curved back yet, but i have never driven a stick and i was shifting better then this guy. He was down shifting from third to 4th or trying his damnest to put it in low (using an eaton 8)

How does someone get a DUI ever and be allowed to drive a commercial truck again.

He did not say that the DUI was obtained while driving a truck. People do change, just look at all the people with felonies that turn their lives around. You can't condemn someone for one mistake. If they are repeat offenders then I would think along your line of thinking but once is a mistake more than that is a habit.

It's a non issue now when he was told he had to do the pre trip test he stopped showing up. NONE of the instructors believed he had 15 years experience in a truck. So the issue fixed itself.

Also found out he failed out of the CR England school before coming to swift

Wow! You really get some knuckleheads that show up at these company-sponsored programs. One of the biggest blunders a person can make is trying to pass themselves off as someone with more experience than they actually have to people who really do have the experience. You look like a total clown. I mean, anyone with a lot of experience at something can spot someone who doesn't know what they're doing from a mile away. It's like the kid with chocolate all over his face who swears he didn't eat any cookies. Duh! Like you're going to fool anyone.

Even the people without experience knew he was full of it. I had never been in a tractor and I could shift and back better then him.

His big issue was he would not listen. Like I said he stopped showing up once he was told he was going to get tested on pre trip and someone told him they were going to remove the picnic table he always sat at.

When I was in school, before I started getting to drive, I went around and met some of the students that had been there a while before me. One girl offered me advice if I needed as "the instructors said I drive so well they could learn something from me." So, I kept her in mind, in case I ever had a question. One day I got crammed into a truck with her. Great, I thought, I'll get to watch someone that knows what they're doing. Well... it was one of the scariest times of my life. I thought I might die. No exaggeration. She got kicked out of the truck, and put into another instructors truck. When I got back to the school after driving, we saw one of the street signs had been knocked over. Guess who did it? Yup. She got kicked out of that truck, too. Last I heard she went to Prime's school. Don't know what ever happened to her. Moral of the story: Can't believe everything people tell ya!

Dontcha' just love it when that happens? I'll bet the instructors knew that if they simply held him accountable for a few things, he'd cave. People like this are energy-suckers, for sure. It was only a matter of time before they were able to weed him out.

As a very wise 13 year-old said to me once, "They were born that way. They can't be helped," then shrugged. To me, this kind of thing feels like I'm being stabbed right under my fingernails and annoys the hell outta' me, but the 13 year-old was right. Don't waste too much energy. In this case, try to let your "give-a-s***" meter drop to zero and focus on you.
