I start Roehl's CDL school on October 13th! I will get started a week before my 53rd birthday and will get to spend it with them!!! dancing-dog.gif I am excited and extremely freaked out at the same time!!!! smile.gif

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Whoa! Can you believe it's October already?! Congratulations!

I know, and of course it had to actually start feeling like October right before I leave!!! I told my recruiter we had to get this going going because I may have grown up and lived in the Midwest all of my life, but I am not that winter hardy any more!!! I detest the extremes of weather regardless of hot or cold! smile.gif

Thanks Rhonda! I enjoyed reading about the path you and your hubby took. People who know me have mixed reactions to my decision because of my college education, but I tell them my degrees are getting me nowhere and I want to do something I am interested in, not what others think I should do. I am doing the crash course thing and will be going solo in the winter, so I figure it will make me or break me! smile.gif Be safe, and hope you post here more often!

My hubby will be 53 years old Oct. 22nd! Cool.

We were in trucking school during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Special memoriesπŸ˜€

You talk about fast paced schools.....in 1997, when I got my cdl...my school was 4 days....yup....4 days.....but I'd driven alot of truck years before...so it was a matter of renewing my long rested trucking skills....and I aced ALL the tests...
