So my regular non cdl license was suspended for 3 months and was reinstated march of 2013. It was for failure to prove insurance for a headlight out stop, NOT dui related.

Is there a time frame I have to wait before I can be hired to drive a truck? I've heard that insurance will not insure me for 3 years but am having trouble verifying that. Thanks in advance.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Central refrigerated/swift will take you as long as you have had your drivers license for 1 year I know this cuz that's what happen to me and I went to and passed at central refrigerated
