I am pretty sure Schneider offers tankers for new students. There should be a thread here somewhere all about it. I forget who it was, but I remember he was sharing his experience with the school and he was being trained for tankers.
Ask "Thinks too much." He started with Schneider tankers, I believe.

Check Stevens also. With your prior exp. I would think it would be easy, would be helpful to now where you are.
Hi Erick, To my knowledge, Schneider and Prime are the only ones I can think of that would offer you training to get back into tanker. Sounds like you already realize that basically you'd be starting over from scratch in the eyes of a trucking company. If I wasn't in linehaul for an LTL company, I'd probably be pulling a tank too. When I was looking for myself, I could only come up with Schneider and Prime for companies that would hire a student driver for tank. Please let us know if you come up with any other ones. Best wishes to you.
Refers to carriers that make a lot of smaller pickups and deliveries for multiple customers as opposed to hauling one big load of freight for one customer. This type of hauling is normally done by companies with terminals scattered throughout the country where freight is sorted before being moved on to its destination.
LTL carriers include:
Linehaul drivers will normally run loads from terminal to terminal for LTL (Less than Truckload) companies.
LTL (Less Than Truckload) carriers will have Linehaul drivers and P&D drivers. The P&D drivers will deliver loads locally from the terminal and pick up loads returning them to the terminal. Linehaul drivers will then run truckloads from terminal to terminal. Thanks for the info guys. I will look at Schneider and see what they are all about. Im leaning heavily towards hauling water for the oil companies and it seems like these are the cake jobs that may be easiest to get into fresh from school. Ill let you know if I find other avenues. BTW MRC I'm in Sanford FL right now but I'll relocate anywhere that speaks english so long as I can make decent money.

I use to drive tanker truck about 15 years ago for about 5 years. I switched careers and been behind a desk for a long time. I want to get back into driving tanker trucks. Ultimately I want to haul water or fuel for the oil rigs. I have been looking at the company sponsored programs and I'm not seeing any places that offer Tanker in the first year. Can anyone help point me in a good direction to get my CDL's back and get into a tanker career quicker. I'm not opposed to driving other types of trucks but I would like to train with what I want to drive so when it comes time to get a job at a place that offers water hauling positions I will be good to go. Thanks.
