There ya go, man! So you now have your CDL A?

not yet i have to pass my backing test and road test next week to "graduate" from the Swift academy then i go to the DMV and take the DMV test. Even though the DMV will take completion of the swift course as proof of passing a DMV test, Swift will not give you the piece of paper saying you graduated until you pay off the loan for the school.

Kind of a crap think IMO but they say everything they have you do at Swift is harder then what the DMV makes you do, so far no-one from the Richmond Academy has graduated the school and not got their CDL A.

Aslo according to their Stats the Richmond school has the highest graduation rate and the best safety record of students after graduating of all the schools. Richmond is at an 85% safety rating (meaning accident free for a year after school) and most of the other are under 60%

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

DMV:

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

That's really good to know. It makes me believe that I have made the right decision to go with the Swift Driving Academy. An 85% safety record for the Richmond graduates is fantastic. I'm also glad that Swift makes their tests harder than the actual DMV ones. Keep up the good work, bruh!
