For the last few months i've been trying to go east. I've been running I-5 (CA-WA), I-80 (CA-UT)...I had one load that took me to Wisconsin... thats about it...

finally get to go further east.... Everett, WA --> Newark, DE.

Typically I do 2 weeks out, my guess is with the short time frame it's just easier for dispatch to keep me on the west coast... But I haven't put my home time call in yet.. (waiting for my new laptop to ship so I can get it when I get home.) Im excited. I haven't seen the east coast since Aug. when I was with my mentor... Should be a fun and exciting trip... I enjoy the long hauls..

That's funny because most drivers at the opposite - they hate running East and love running West. But if you're going to Newark, DE then you're definitely getting to go East in a big way! That's an awesome run.

Ain't truckin somethin else? Most people save money for years and dream for years about making a cross-country drive. Truckers get to do it in big, beautiful rigs all the time and get paid well to do it. I used to love telling people, "Yap, a couple of weeks ago I spent the weekend in Vegas and last week I was in Miami, etc, etc." You get to see more of the country in a typical week than a lot of people will see in their lifetimes. Gotta love it!

I run east coast every week. Don't have a problem with it. Crossett Ar to Bradford PA or Quakertown Pa The deadhead to Richmond VA or Big Island Va back to Crossett Ar. I go through Washington DC all the time. Sure its a pain but I accept it to keep my dedicated run and restart at home each week.

Deadhead:

To drive with an empty trailer. After delivering your load you will deadhead to a shipper to pick up your next load.

Dedicated Run:

A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."

DC is not too bad...

As long it is not raining.

see your always there.. Me, I'm always in the west.. So getting a chance to "Stretch my long haul legs" out is a wonderful thing for me.. Plus the 2700Mi is nice too.

Currently sitting at a pilot in South Dakota. Roughly halfway through my trip. Now I've just gotta keep an eye on winter storm Rocky.. It's been a nice trip. Lots of snow/ice/rain.
