There are plenty of jobs in trucking! And I see women drivers out here everyday.
Hubby and me team drive and love it. We're making awesome money and are paid tourists.
Yup...My hubby and I teamed as Owner Operators for over 15 years....It was great to see all the wonderful country with your partner. If your marriage can weather driving team.....its bullet proof !!
An owner-operator is a driver who either owns or leases the truck they are driving. A self-employed driver.

hi everyone, I am seriously considering the trucking business. I have been laid off twice in the past year. The first lay off I worked at for 17 years. Husband and I are considering that I can get my cdl and start driving and in a few months he can get his then we can drive as a team. I am a little nervous. I just dont want to get screwed over on schooling and a job being a newbie. Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I live in central MS. I am 39 and our last child is 19 so we are free to do this.
Thanks Miranda

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
