So like many others before me I have been trolling this site and doing a lot of reading and studying. I am enrolled at a CDL close to home her in Michigan and am learning lots. Plus having a ball with the instructors and classmates learning about driving etc..... Now is coming the difficult part, trying to find a job. I have a handful offers, I know I don't want to be out for more than 7 days at a stretch. Which could fit the bill for me. But how do I decide? How did some of you decide where to work?
Sarah, I am getting ready to start CDL school for Roehl out of Marshfield WI and will leave on Sunday. They have some of the best home time in the industry from what I am told. Call Debbie Wojak

I was talking to her before I decided to go to the Roehl School and was going to try to get WIA funds. She is great and will take the time to answer any questions you have. They do have a 7 on 7 off schedule along with a lot of other options. I am sure she can tell you what they have for your hiring area. You can e-mail me at blondie196124@yahoo.com if you would like, but Debbie is a wealth of knowledge! Good luck!
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).
It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.
Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.
They are in the top 5 for me!!

Would be great to be there together! I am getting very nervous about school I can tell you that. 3 weeks will fly by I am sure!
I am probably going with Roehl, we had a recruiter at our school today, and I chatted her up. hang in there with school, those first few days are a doozy, but take it one skill at a time!
