Greg, I would do just that. I'd go to a truck stop (or a school) or even better, a tractor dealership and ask. What have you got to lose? I just thought of 2 other friends who are your height, who drive and I've never heard them say they've ever had a problem. You should just go for it.

If Daniel b can reach the pedals, you should be able to... Not every ones 10ft talk like MG
It has its challenges ...

Them Freightliners are good for short people but the New Model of the T680 is a very good option. The steering wheel comes down lower than previous models and the seat can be adjusted very well for short people. I'm 5'6 and I would love me a T680!
How tall/short are you?
5'2" And everyone is telling me its cool but I don't want to get sent home from a school because of my height. If you know what I mean.
I just started school today with Roehl and I am 5' 0" and can reach the pedals without an issue. Heck, I even opened the hood during our lunch break while I was alone just to make sure I could. I would love to be 5' 2"!!!!! You got it made!!!!
I stopped into a Peterbilt service center and asked to get inside one of the trucks when I was first considering going into trucking. The mechanics thought it was kinda wierd, but so what? You need answers, you gotta ask the questions.
Thanks everyone for the the confidence... I stopped by Murrays Freightliner last evening on my way home from work. Luckily I still have connections there from my time as a car salesman. they let me climb in 3 different style trucks and no problem... Was pretty cool just sitting in the big monsters for the first time. I will be calling the Prime recruiter today and have recieved responses from Knight, Swift, and Prime so far...Swift was running my driving record last night. Thanks again.
