Jolie, did you go with Roehl? the 10 speed estin fuller is pretty simple once you get the basics down, and you will. just takes practice. Company sponsored schools are fast paced, but if you eent to Roehl their instructors are very patient. you'll get it.

Yes PJ I am at Roehl. We have Dan and Dale for our instructors. We were supposed to have 6 people in the class but only 4 showed up today. One of the no shows for class actually drove here from KS, checked into the hotel last night and stayed and then checked out this morning and never came to class. I think the other guy is going to try to be in class tomorrow but was having transportation issues. The instructors are very professional and encouraging.....this is just something totally out of my area of knowledge! I will be in the truck with Dan and he seems as patient as Job. Tomorrow is another day!

It bears repeating ... This is your first day! Great job and keep plugging away! Remember, you're only "feeling" like a failure. You haven't failed anything. Try to separate the feeling from the reality. The reality is that you are learning. smile.gif

Yup, you can do it.

It's a lot to learn all at once. I was mentally exhausted at first. Hang in there.

Sorry about the weather, it's gonna be yucky again tomorrow. At least it's not snow.

David, you are right, going from 5th to 6th or downshifting from 6th to 5th is the hardest. I will say though, doing it in the truck is much easier than the simulator!

When I first started driving, my resume had an 8 speed, my kW had an 8, when I got my lovely blue Volvo, it had a 10.. Wasn't aware at the time and I started to shift Luke an 8... Want tell I pulled the visor down and noticed the shift pattern.. Kept going 5th to 7th thinking it was 4th to 5th...

I never did shifting in a Sim, I have used one for backing though and it's different..
