If I happen to get into a rig that doesn't have turn by turn navigation, what are the popular Brand / models to get me in the game for Commercial, Truck Specific, Turn by Turn Navigation.

Too many options to guess on this one.

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

I did a lot of research before I bought my GPS. I found that for me the Rand McNally units are the best (but that's just me).

Price wise, they all are about the same ball park, feature wise, Rand McNally for me.

Just my 2 cents on the subject.

Well, a lot of companies us the Rand McNally to pay the Zip Code to Zip Code method, so they must trust the software. That says something right there.

Grazie for the info... :)

For me, Rand McNally hands down.....you can pick up a new Rand McNally TND 720 in the $250-$270 range or it's newest replacement the Rand McNally TND 730 in the $360-$370 range.

But DO NOT depend on any GPS solely, it's just a tool. Learn your Road Atlas!!

So I take it the Rand McNally Road Atlas is still king here also. I know the laminating kind are the best because you can trip plan by drawing out routes using either wet or dry markers. Are there several to pick from? ... I'll do some searching for a hard copy of the Atlas.

Thanks guys...
