Been running a lot of HV loads for Bose recently. We've enjoyed it. The Bose employees have all been very courteous and polite, even towards lowly truck drivers, which we take as proof that Bose is just a solid company that hires good people. If I could find out who to talk to I'd be more than willing to drive for them directly (we saw a few Bose OTR sleepers at their HQ).
It isn't a sure thing, but in two months time my dad and I may be leaving Swift to drive for SLT. They are an AA&E carrier for DoD. They are willing to wave some of their usual prerequisites once they found out I have an active clearance. They asked me to call back a few weeks before I hit my 12 month mark.
I think this will be a good move, career-wise.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
