Depends on who you drive for and what you drive. My first year I drove for Sygma and they provided everything even paid for steel toe boots and $300 to buy company work clothes.
Now I'm with Prime's flatbed division and I had to spend over $3000 for all my securement, and tarps, even $300 for snow chains.
Both are great companies and have no regrets working for them.
Thanks Chris, I'm going to pull the trigger within the next couple of days and I'm just trying to get a list made up so that I can cover my butt on expenses. Company, still not sure, looking at Northeast regional possibly US Express, Knight or....... Whomever, it will be dry van. Thanks
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.
Atlas, cooler, GPS, dashcam (hopefully), and any other comfort item you want to buy for yourself.
Your company will supply you with everything else needed, unless it's Prime.
Ok, I want to say it was wine taster that had remarked on getting his truck at Roehl he had to buy a set of Abloy locks, tire chains and I think wheel chocks. I've got all the other, atlas etc. already. Thanks Daniel

Hey All, It would be helpful to know what equipment, you, actually have to purchase. I'm thinking upon receiving your own truck, and also the cost if you remember. Trying to make a cost sheet for Uncle Sam. Thanks!!
