I know I said I would get back to yall on the death toll rate from the 1930's - 2013

I don't know any statistics off the top of my head but I've read numerous reports on this over the years. Without a doubt the death toll has been dropping for decades as a percentage of drivers on the road. The trucking industry stats are even better than the stats for 4-wheelers. The trucking industry has gotten much, much safer over the years.

Brett- that is good to hear... hard to believe with how many stupid things I see on a daily basis but good to hear it is getting safer out on the roads .

1st off I'll say sorry for ur friend,

but to the tire bit it brings me to two I have in mind I was driving for swift tire is coming off I call swift they have on rd come he says follow me to my shop,OK well here's the kicker tire says I'm not hanging on no more and tread just gives way,now I'm driving at slow speed with tire tread just wailing and slapping along the trl cars get along side me and instead of passing along they slow to watch.I was saying to ace are these ppl morons this thing is slapping and it weighs bout 25 plus lbs.

the second one is funnier,I stop at a red light came to a complete stop no problem there, while waiting on the green light I hear a horrendous boom,I jumped some bystanders screamed and everyone is looking at me,I had my window down and yelled who shot at me.the rd worker yelled back ur tire bro,it just blew. keep in mind this was in my career beginning.

LOL I say the same thing. "Laugh at me all you want, but let's compare driving records and then we'll see who's the one laughing." "

I'm with you! My older brother was criticizing my driving with such anger that I pulled over and told him he could stop talking or get out of the vehicle one time. The hysterical part was that I was driving him somewhere because he'd had his license revoked.

I have been driving since I was 15 or so....47 yeas, driving cars, pickups pulling horse trailers, and semi trucks of all shapes and sizes. I have never had a fender bender or wreck. I do have 87 speeding tickets and one conducting a speed race ticket. What can I say...I was a child of the 60's, when muscle cars were the must have. My dad was a mechanic, and I was his helper. We "built" every car I had. BUT..my drving skills came from driving dirt track race cars, and demolition derby from 15 on. I am a VERY defensive driver. Talking of the worst things you've seen people doing while they drive...I was driving our Western Star in CA, I'm in the right lane, cruisin' my 55 mph...this car comes up in the next lane, I see its loaded with "que tips"(little gray haired people)..as they go by, I look down.....They each, including the driver, had a full handfull of cards !! From what I could see and the amount of cards, they were probably playing bridge......And I won't even talk on my cell WITH a headset while I'm driving....
