I would also add slow down and don't be in a hurry. I just tested for my CDL A on Wednesday and got a perfect score backing....this is from the person who was told on not 1 but 2 times it would be best to save my money and not test. I just slowed down to think and focus on what I needed to do next. That might not work for some people, but I have to think things through sometimes. Good luck!

I agree with everyone above - try to relax as much as possible. When they're testing you for your CDL they're not looking for someone who's an expert driver. They know you're new to it. What they're looking for is someone who has the basics down pretty good, seems comfortable behind the wheel, can handle unexpected circumstances well, and has a good awareness of what's going on around the vehicle.
Everyone that's first getting their license will improve a lot in that first year. The CDL examiners are mostly trying to make sure you have the basics down and that you have the personality to handle a high pressure job.
