If you want to work in the offices, your best bet is to live in the same city that a terminal is located in and drive for that company. Let them know you're interested in a position within the offices and hope that you get it. I've seen tons of individuals who work at my company who have also driven for them in the past. Companies appreciate this because you get a sense of what the driver is going through while you do the work behind the computers.
As far as doing both? No large carrier would do that, maybe a small company would but large carriers don't have those "hybrid" positions.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
