Interesting you talk about primes Mac 27 for routing. For instance, I'll get dispatched 780 miles. The 27 gives me a route that says 865 miles. But then I'll find a route closer to the dispatched miles and I'll follow that instead. I've only followed the 27 directions once or twice. But I go for faster time as opposed to least miles. I can plan my times better at interstate speeds than I can state highway speeds as there are so many speed zones thru small towns and stop lights to take into consideration. So far since I started on my own in early September, I haven't been questioned. Guess it's coming though lol
To not totally derail the topic....in response to the route here in question, I would check the weather very closely. 44, 89, 395 will have many chain areas if the snow comes down and fewer places to stop and wait it out. You'll spend alot of time throwing chains and un chaining it may be faster to just stick to 5 and 80 and chain donner.
Interstate:
Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).
TWIC:
Transportation Worker Identification Credential
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
