Hey how you guys doing?

I'm getting on the greyhound the day after thanksgiving, start the process with Prime on Dec. 1st.

I was going over the website for the hell of it, and I noticed that they want a 5 year work history, but I only have 3. Everything has been verified and ready to go, I just don't want to get sent home because I don't have enough work history. Do you guys think this will be a problem?

I was homeless before I started working about 4 years ago, I spent my first year of adult life sleeping in the desert and bouncing around friends' houses paying them with an EBT food stamp card. Life is rough, I just want to have a good job and provide for my family.

Thanks ya'll.

  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.

BTW, I tried to call my recruiter today, but it seems it is her day off or she is out of the office.

I could be wrong but I think the five years only applies to those who have been driving trucks already.

From: http://www.primeinc.com/minimum-qualifications

"Must provide no less than 10 years of driving work history, non-driving work history for the past five years (you will need this at orientation to complete paperwork)"

I already gave my employer my two week notice, and they are not treating me very well since. No way are they going to let me go back on it.

I'm getting worried sick over this.

Reading over it, it still sounds like this is about people with a CDL already and not those entering the cdl training program. Tho there is a mod here who trains for prime so he will probably be better help than me.

I think they are going to want to know what you were doing with your time during those two years. If not working, could be school, volunteer work or caring for someone.

Personally i wouldn't think they would have you come down if you where missing qualifications like that anyways.

It's nothing to sweat. They will want you to list your last five years and they verify the last three. They will probably just ask for a contact number for a relative or some sort of a reference who can verify that you were unemployed for the period that you were unemployed. I think. Definitely talk to your recruiter about it on Monday but don't stress out about it all weekend. I doubt it's a huge problem.

I was struggling for survival those couple of years. I've overcame so much crap in my life, I'd hate to let this get in the way of my success and taking care of my family.

I'd hate to be back to square one, there are NO jobs in my area, the one I have now was just pure luck getting in the door.

Thanks for the input guys. Hopefully the mod who is a Prime recruiter will see this and can give me some information.

Long time lurker, first time poster. This website is awesome.
