I'm not sure to tell you the truth. Maybe someone here was in the same position and knows the answer but I suspect you might have to contact the DMV to find out.

I went from a Class B to a Class A in Arizona. The only test I had to take to get my Class A permit was the Combination test. I'm sure California will be the same.
Talked to DMV ,they said I must take all computer tests again, thanks for everyones input

I have a Class B with A/B and Passenger (2014) . Does anyone know if I'll need to pass all written tests again, General Knowledge , Air Brakes etc. I reside in California. Thank You
