You are not the one who is doing the driving which is actually more difficult to deal with. This life will slap the sh8t out of folks who are not used to being, or, have never been alone. A successful truck driver is an independent person by nature. That does not mean that we lack the ability to love and share our lives with others, rather, we are able to adjust to either situation.
That is just the beginning.
I was told by many drivers before me "A bad day on the road is better than a good day at the yard" this means ur gonna have bad days its normal ,but ur still makin money.

Im not driver yet but my suggestion would be when he shuts down truck and his overloaded emotions from the day remimd him of his blessing that are in front of him. Things like he didnt wreck his rig, he is out of the construction zone, he got to shut down safely, and he has a wife who loves and supports him.
Feelings are temporary. Blessings though they change,@ are eternal.
