Hey, look into flatbed too. Tanker really isn't all that much work per se. Sometimes you'll have to get out a couple of hoses and run the pump to offload something, but that's about it. The dangerous and difficult part is driving it.
Flatbed of course is incredibly interesting because you're hauling all kinds of different stuff, it's a lot of physical labor, and the camaraderie amongst flatbedders is about the best of any form of trucking. I'm not trying to talk you into flatbedding or out of tankers but from what you've said I think you might enjoy flatbed better than tankers. Ya never know. But heck....there will be plenty of time to try everything at some point.
Dang Brett I like Schneider tanker division but now I'm looking at Maverick and they Really got my Attention with their glass division and their pay is decent but their equipment is Top Notch!!!!! The only problem is I will Never be able to talk my wife into moving away from Atlanta!!! Gonna look closer at Schneider
I'm with Prime's flatbed division. You wouldn't have to move away from Atlanta and their training has been very good. TMC might hire you from Georgia too, check their website for hiring areas.
