It's always fun hearing from ya and I'm glad things are going well!!!

Yeah, I live Southeast of Buffalo about 50 miles or so. I don't have horses, but I do have chickens, turkeys, and cows with some pigs on the way smile.gif

And you would look as funny on a homestead with your girly-girl stuff as I would in Lower Manhatten with my poopy boots and Carhartt jacket rofl-3.gif

I hope you never stop coming back here to visit. It's always entertaining when you're around!

Hey, I forgot to mention I took a short video the other day of my new calves and my older steers:

Brett's Calves and Steers

Fm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

RedGator, I just finished up at your alma mater lol. Failed my first road test, passed everything else. Glad I did not go across the street for school, I think watching the other students driving taught me as much as being behind the wheel myself!

Glad to hear you are having fun.

I failed my first time too. Who tested you? Mr. Smith tested me. I stalled on that hill leading to the stop sigh ( the one with the man that calls the police on the school) Im glad you choose LCCC. It was a tremendous help learning from other students. Tell em Nalee said hi when you test again. Mr. Riccabonne tested me #2. Big ol teddy bear that one. Dont worry Im here to tell ya that the worst aint over BUT it gets better I promise. I just had to do a uturn in a church parking lot. But I find the challenges to be fun. Sometimes I put myself in stuff to see if I can get out of it. I think I was made for this life. Did you decide where your going to work?

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Yeah Mr. Ricabonne tested me, I almost had Mr. Heisler (he is kind of scary lol). Ricabonne really looked sad when he had to fail me. I'll be fine on next try, luckily I didn't stall at all, came close once or twice though, stupid stupid hills! I am fairly sure I am going to Schneider's OTR Tanker Division out of Keasbey, NJ. I just went over there to meet the terminal manager for an interview, I'll know on Monday if he liked me enough or not.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

Hey RedGator, while I was somewhere way up north in the North/Eastern states a WEL truck passed me as I was struggling to climb a hill and it made me stop and wonder how things are going for you. Glad to hear your settling into the lifestyle and still enjoying your new career. It's always fun to hear from you - thanks for stopping by for a minute.
