Whoa! Bud A, you're showing your age! How many people even know who Spiro Agnew is?

Spiro T. Agnew, thank you very much. Governor of Maryland (explains a lot!) and VP under Tricky **** Nixon...those were the days!

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

No way would I sit on a bus for 36 hours. I bought an airline ticket from Orlando to Springfield for $256 one way. The bus ticket was $202. They reimbursed me $202 dollars so out only cost me a little over $50 to get there in 8 hours instead of 36 from Daytona.

When I upgraded my FM would not let me stay at home when I got my stuff. He said I only had about 12 hours to get my stuff and get on the road as it was primes policy to be out 21 days before I could get my first home time. Their home time policy for company drivers is horrible. It's my only complaint about Prime. They never once explained days you stay out over 21 days don't carry over towards your next trip. I hate that. But at least I got a job and get good miles.

Fm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

So how is it going there at Orientation Josh? Filling out tons of paperwork? When do they do the physical?

Just keep in mind that this whole process is one long interview. Stay on your toes, and don't be late for anything.
