Your trainer just prefers night time driving. It does have its advantages. But you're not a night time person and its understandable that it will be difficult for you.
This is just one of those things where you need to tough it out. As a professional driver, you need to be able to go with the flow. However wacky your schedule is, you need to adapt.
Training isn't easy, and its never perfect. If this is your only problem then you're doing well. But my advice would be to tough it out and go with the flow. Sometimes the challenging things make us a better driver in the long run.
Daniel nailed it. I really can't even think of anything to add to what he said. Just go with the flow and stay focused on learning all you can. Once the training is over you'll be able to make your own decisions and do things the way you're most comfortable doing them. Neither one of us disagree with what you're saying, but as a trainee you just have to go along with it.
And to be honest, you're going to find that almost nothing is ever ideal in trucking. Pretty much every hour of every day you'll be dealing with less than ideal circumstances. Once in a while you'll maybe get a nice hour of peaceful sunshine cruising through Iowa on a beautiful summer day or something. And when you do you'll cherish every moment of it because nothing easy lasts long out there, that's for sure!
So keep rollin with the punches, stay positive, and learn all you can. Try your best to welcome every challenge because hoping that things will be easy, logical, or ideal is pretty much unrealistic in this business. There are just far too many variables that are beyond your control out there.

Do most OTR drivers drive at night or in the day My trainer thanks that we must drive at night when there is more than enough time to take our break at night and drive in the day It is very hard for me to go to bed @ 12pm and get up @ 10pm and then drive I would thank that you would like for someone that is driving for the first time to be driving in the day time When I get my truck I will be trying to driving in the day You can most of the time pick if you drive in the day or night Please tell me if that is so
OTR:
Over The Road
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
