I didn't make it. I miss my eval by 2 points. I can pay $750 for another week but I don't have it. So I will be on the greyhound tomorrow headed home to lick my wounds and face my kids. Thanks to all the has wish me well and giving me advice I thanks you so much and I will you all the best.

Hey Minnie..that is really a bummer..I know it's got to sting to get so close. I'm not sure what you mean when you say you can pay $750 for another week? What do your instructors at Swift say? I know others who didn't pass on the first try and then got another chance to go again? Even if you can't stay right now, don't give up. Go home, spend some time with your family and don't think about this right now. In a week or two, give us a shout and let's get this ball rolling again.

I did the free week now I have to pay $750 towards my loan to go another week. The instructors said pay the money asap and come back soon so I don't forget what I learned. Right now I cant afford to keep this going I'm way deep in debt. Worst part is I have to pay Swift and not be able to drive.

Like I said before..shake it off..go home..spend some time hugging your kids and in a week or so, shout us back. We will figure this out and find a way to get you back in the truck..

Minnie, you can do the same thing Pebbles (Juelma) did, she just went to another company school. The second time around she made it thru with flying colors.....Don't give up, if this is what you want to do...it will eat you up every time you see a semi heading down the hiway.... Whatever you decide, you will forever be a Asphalt Sister.....keep in touch with me.

Thanks I am looking into what I should do next. I may just get the money to come back to Swift. It will keep me from going any deeper in debit. I would really to find a company that pays during training. I have been a month with out a check and it sucks.

Sorry about the negative post early. I'm so mad at myself right now. Talked to a co-student he said I had it in the box twice and I pulled out. I couldn't see the cones to tell if I was in the box or not. I did the 90 with only one pull up. Grrrr I could kick my own butt if I could.

Listen, we all totally understand how frustrated and disappointed you are right now but we've watched sooooooooo many people run into situations like you're in. They go home, regroup, take another shot at it, and now they're out there in a big rig making a living as a trucker. Heck, Old School (here in our forum) got sent home three different times by the same company for medical reasons, was finally released by them, chose a different company, and now he's out there doin it.

You've learned a ton, you've invested your time and money into this, and you are totally capable of doing this. I know right now you're not feeling too hot about all this, but go home and relax for a little bit. Put it out of your mind completely for a few days. Don't give it a second thought. Then you do like my parents always told me - "When the goin gets tough, the tough get goin" - you decide what your next move will be and you make it happen.

Trucking is full of incredibly tough challenges and setbacks. Everyone goes through it in their own way. It can be anything from accidents to medical problems to family issues to personality conflicts or a million other things that can set you back or temporarily derail your trucking career. It takes a lot of toughness and fierce determination to make it in trucking. One day soon you'll be out there driving a rig and you'll look back on this and realize it wasn't even the toughest challenge you've faced. There will be more.

This is one of those pivotal moments in a person's life where your decisions in the coming days and weeks will change the entire course of your life. I have the word "Courage" on two different tattoos because in my mind a person can never build the life they'd love to have without the courage to face the inevitable challenges and setbacks they'll encounter and push through with grit and determination.

Go home and get some rest and relaxation. When friends ask how the trucking thing went, just tell em you're still in the training process and you're working on it - simple as that.

We all hope you'll see this through. This is far from the end for you, it's just the beginning. We'll continue to be here to help you through it and we'll be hear cheering for you when you make it - and you will smile.gif

Stick with the program man. Ignore a lot of the BS and scare tactics the others will try on you. I went through the Swift program and very pleased with it. Keep a good attitude, buddy up with the best students, ask the vets a ton of questions.
