Find out if they will let you take the truck home for home time. If so the distance from the terminal won't matter. I live over 700 miles from my companies closest terminal. Talk to a recruiter from each company to see which one fits your needs best. If you like them both equally after your research then the closer terminal might be your choice. Good luck.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

unfortunately i live in chicago suburbs and no truck parking even bob tails in residential areas. i could always rent a spot near by but that would mean paying monthly rate to use the spot couple days a month. all though i saw a prime bob tail parked at a local grocery store parking lot for several days

Yeah if you live near a terminal then you would have to park your truck there and if not then you would find the closest truck stop or parking lot near your home and have someone pick you up..... But you don't have to pick a company because its close to your home that should be the least of your worries. Pick a company based on CPM ,home time, type of freight , benefits, advancement opportunities and what not
