I am currently attending truck driving school in Dallas and have began driving on the range. The instructor tells me that it is coming to me naturally. I have a couple of job offers already but my only concern is my weight, i have already made changes to my lifestyle to begin to lose weight and plan to continue once driving. I hear being overweight it is assumed that you have sleep apnea. As far as i know i do not have it but i am sure i will be required to be tested. Can anyone tell me what all is typically done during an orientation such as physicals, agility testing and such? I have offers from prime as well as crete.

Sleep Apnea:

A physical disorder in which you have pauses in your breathing, or take shallow breaths, during sleep. These pauses can last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. Normal breathing will usually resume, sometimes with a loud choking sound or snort.

In obstructive sleep apnea, your airways become blocked or collapse during sleep, causing the pauses and shallow breathing.

It is a chronic condition that will require ongoing management. It affects about 18 million people in the U.S.

I work for swift. I am 5' 10 and weight 250. More stocky than anything. If you have the long form from school they will not send you for physical. They will just take the one you got. There were a few guys in orientation that were pretty big and had no issues either.
