Daniel, you will be required to get another physical. This is a D.O T. Regulation - each time you start a new driving job the employer is required to have a new physical done on you.
I have cdl permit, tanker, hazmat endorsements, DOT physical good for 2 years. Blood pressure borderline, but passed for 2 years. (eating better, no meds) I am concerned about the idea of traveling to a training facility and having my BP questionable. I am in no position to take a 2000 mile ride to return with no CDL
Portable Blood Pressure Machine Might help you. Idk? Just keep checking as much as possible and determine a way to keep it under that magic number.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
I'll tell ya what helped me as I too was border line on BP.. cut out caffeine and soda 48 hrs before, drink a ton of water and when you get hooked up to machine, closer your eyes, and deep breath, it'll take you down 5-10 points. I was at 145/90 did that the next day as I was given the chance to retest. Dropped down to 133/80.
