Brett wakes up. And I'm just now going to sleep after ending my 16 hour day. The wild, crazy schedule of a trucker right there!

LoL! Yeah, I still get up between 2:00am-4:00am seven days a week. Have for years. Always did when I was truckin if it was up to me. Just something about getting up a few hours before everyone else and getting to work makes me feel like I'm getting ahead of the game. Plus, I'm just an enthusiastic dude...I can't wait to get up and get goin!

Brett! What time do you go to bed?! Waking up at 4am, okay, people do that, but 2am! That's crazy! Only person I know who does that is my grandma and that's only because she's deaf and has trouble sleeping!

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

I go to bed anywhere from 9:00-11:00 and get up anywhere from 2:00-4:00. Five hours of sleep at a time has always been plenty for me. I usually try to sneak in a nap during the afternoon at some point also.

Brett, I just read your article Rookie Drivers: Time Management Tips And Mileage Goals and realized that you have already talked about your sleep schedule. I need to read through the blogs/articles better. Are there any questions that you haven't had to answer multiple times in the forum? Copy and paste much?

Oh there are tons of questions we've answered dozens of times each but I enjoy it! I mean, I've had numerous careers over the years and I always love learning new things. So I'm always full of newbie questions for whatever my challenge of the week may be so I'm always more than happy to come here and answer newbie questions for others. It also takes me back to my early years in trucking which was a ton of fun.

What I'll do is take common questions and put them in our Truck Driver's Career Guide or our Truck Driving Blogs to help people find the answers easier. So this forum is the perfect place to learn what information people are looking for. It also tells me if people are having trouble finding certain pieces of information elsewhere on the website.
