Another Newbie Going For My License

I am in a different situation in that I am looking to get my Class B and not my Class A at this time. My boyfriend has his class A and we have found a company that will hire on a Class B team with one teammate in training. (ME!). Right now I dont have the money for school to go for a class A. Plus he wants to make sure that being on the road is for me before spending the money for school. I am looking to get my permit in late March and be on the road with him early April. Anyone here drive a straight truck? I have been studying and reading all I can here and other places. Any words of wisdom?
