How does the Fed-Ex job work that you are applying for. Is it a program they have to help people get their CDL? We'd love to hear more about it if you have the time.

This is news to me - if you don't mind me asking, where are you located? I know that others will be interested in this program. I was unaware that Fed-Ex was doing this.

Yeah, I'd like to hear more about this arrangement also. FedEx hauls a lot of their freight using outside contractors so I'm wondering if this might be an outside company contracted with FedEx and not FedEx themselves?
Well its definitely FedEx, its FedEx frieght. The driver instructor and operations manager both have FedEx.com emails. I don't think they offer the program unless they have an opening for a driver at one of the local hubs so it may not be something that gets used a lot. I am located about 100 miles west of Chicago.
FedEx does have a program if they have positions open. I had an interview at one in Oakland when I was driving for Swift back when I was working my first year. UPS does the same I believe. Its a nice way to get into a LTL job and stay local if its available.
Refers to carriers that make a lot of smaller pickups and deliveries for multiple customers as opposed to hauling one big load of freight for one customer. This type of hauling is normally done by companies with terminals scattered throughout the country where freight is sorted before being moved on to its destination.

Well thanks to your High Road Training Program here I passed my permit tests with flying colors and have an interview at FedEx tomorrow morning.
