Ok on tomorrow I have a phone interview with Schneider. I have read over the internet that basically this is a general question interview over the phone. Now my question; Do you think I have a chance getting selected for Schneider CDL Training here in Houston, reason why I ask is because I have a felony charge back in 2003 and in February 2013 my damn cousin had marijuana in my car and I was charged with possession of marijuana(misdemeanor). Do you think I have a chance with Schneider? If not what are some companies that offer cdl training for second chance individuals.

Please give me some advice! Thanks a lot

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Congrats! And yes, you should be just fine. I actually just wrote about my experience with Schneider because of my past. You can read it here: Schneider offers hope to a felons future

Good luck Charles, i'm sure you will do just fine!

The misdemeanor is two years old. That's a positive, of sorts. I never worked for Schnieder, so I couldn't tell you how they would view it.

If TopNotchTre says is true, then your chances are probably very good.

I don't want to be the negative person here, but just be aware, anything involving drug charges is a red flag for most companies. That being said, it doesnt hurt to give it a shot, since it wasn't a felony charge, you might have a better chance. Good luck, let us know the outcome
