Glad you're are hitting it off with your instructor. I haven't seen anymore posts from the others that started with your class. I'm sure they're too busy or exhausted, but I am still checking for your posts.
I have yet to hear of the scenerio you described about potentially being "leased" by your O/O instructor after the TNT phase to drive his truck. I look forward to seeing how that works out as you progress through that phase.
Good luck out there!
Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.
The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.
The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14¢ per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.

Good news is my instructor and I are hitting off well. He owns the truck we are in and does not lease through the company. At the end of my TNT he would like to buy another truck and put me in the truck he has now. Then he would lease me from prime and pay me .42 a mile. I will still be a company driver with all the benefits offered at prime and he would get percentage of the loads. What's nice is I would be able to be in a 2015 kenworth t680 and have it the way I want it. Also get paid as much as being in a lightweight
