Did you have any luck finding companies to let your wife ride along?
Looking for some assistance. I am starting truck driving school next month. I am so excited. Anyways, once I get out I can choose the company I want to work for. I want my wife to share this experience with me. She can't drive due to medical issues or we would team. Anyways, I want her to come on the truck with me as soon as possible after training, so we can share the experience together. What, if any, companies will allow her to ride with me right out of training, and will they allow her to be with me all year round? Thanks for the help. New here, so if I am rambling, I am sorry.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
Heath, welcome aboard. This topic is almost 6 years old so I'm not sure you'll get an answer from the original person, but most companies will let your wife ride along with you. Every company does have a different rider policy, but most do have one.

Brett that makes sense. I added one more company to my list and call and left a message for a recruiter. I have 7 pre hires so far. Three more companies will bring me in for orientation, but they don't do prehires.
Guy, thanks for the info. I am not that familiar with the Petes and Cats, other than to know that they look good, and as one person told me a Pete with a Caterpillar use to be the Harley Davidson of the trucking world. I am partial to Kenworths myself, but I am willing to drive anything.
Pre Hire:
What Exactly Is A Pre-Hire Letter?
Pre-hire letters are acceptance letters from trucking companies to students, or even potential students, to verify placement. The trucking companies are saying in writing that the student, or potential student, appears to meet the company's minimum hiring requirements and is welcome to attend their orientation at the company’s expense once he or she graduates from truck driving school and has their CDL in hand.

A Pre-Hire Letter Is Not A Guarantee Of Employment
The people that receive a pre-hire letter are people who meet the company's minimum hiring requirements, but it is not an employment contract. It is an invitation to orientation, and the orientation itself is a prerequisite to employment.
During the orientation you will get a physical, drug screen, and background check done. These and other qualifications must be met before someone in orientation is officially hired.
