Could someone please answer a question for me? I have my Class B cdl already with air brakes, tanker, and hazmat endorsements. Will I have to take all those endorsement tests again when I go for my A? Thank You
Dunno, just guessing but I would assume so since you would be in different circumstances in a CDL-A type rig over the CDL-B . . . then again, the best way to find out is call or visit your particular state's DMV to get the definitive answer . . . good luck . . .

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations
The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.
Well Hazmat is only good for two years I think. So that will be a factor in itself. I would think air brakes and tanker would be the same test for class A or class B. But you'll have to ask your DMV like Jopa said cuz I'm not sure myself. That could vary from state to state also.

Hazmat is currently good for 4 years - the tests for tanker, HM and Air Brakes is the same for all CDL classes - though I can't figure out why you would want/need a tanker for a Class B CDL.
All of the endorsement and general knowledge tests are the same - the only difference is what you "practical test" on - yard skills, pre-trip & road test. I have a Passenger Endorsement on my Class A. I took the test when I got my permit - and when I completed my skills test they left it on - even though "technically", I should have done at least a pre-trip and road test in a bus to keep it.
Don't ask - don't tell...
